OVERVIEW
The South Africa is literally the southernmost point of Africa, bordering with Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe in the north and Mozambique to the north east and the small countries of Lesotho and Eswatini are enclosed within. The country has no less than three capitals namely Pretoria, Bloemfontein and Cape Town with different branches of the Government based in each city. The country consists of 9 provinces and is home to 8 UNESCO World Heritage listed sites. It is a vast country with over 2,700km of coastline stretching from the cold Atlantic Ocean through to the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean, offering diverse opportunities to suit every budget, including beaches, scenery, wildlife, food and wine like no other, and once visited, will leave you feeling enriched and rejuvenated.

Vaccinations
There are various levels of risk to a wide range of diseases and illnesses that occur in South Africa. All travellers are advised to visit their travel doctor to ensure all their vaccinations are up to date.

Visas
No visa required for a stay of up to 90 days, however traveller must hold a machine readable passport valid at least 30 days beyond the period of intended stay with two blank visa pages.
Australians with dual citizenship travelling to South Africa must by law enter South Africa on their South African passports, and if travelling with young children, or if one parent is travelling with children, please also review the birth certificate and travel consent rules before departure.
CAPE TOWN
Cape Town is South Africa’s second largest city after Johannesburg and is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is a playground for tourists and a must do visit on everyone’s holiday itinerary. Home to two of the eight South African World Heritage Listed Sites (Robben Island and the Cape Floral Kingdom), beautiful winelands, stunning botanical gardens, accessible wildlife nature reserves and a vibrant Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town has it all. Cape Town’s beaches are breathtakingly beautiful, and visitors can enjoy a variety of activities in the bay including harbour trips, bay sails and sunset voyages. This example includes 4 nights at the beautiful four-star Four Rosmead Guest House in a deluxe room, situated just minutes away from some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. Your stay will include a city tour that has you riding up the Table Mountain Cableway, Castle of Good Hope and the culturally rich Bo-Kaap lined with its colourful houses and quaint cobbled streets. A second full day tour will take you travelling along the Cape Peninsula visiting Cape Point and riding the Funicular for spectacular views, getting up close with the Boulders Beach African Penguins and spending the afternoon strolling in the stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens which is home to thousands of different species including rare plants and a cycad collection. CAPE TOWN GARDEN ROUTE
Travel one of South Africa’s most scenic routes on a self-drive journey from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town along the iconic Garden Route. The drive winds along dramatic coastline and lush forests, passing highlights such as Addo Elephant National Park, Jeffreys Bay and the beautiful Tsitsikamma Forest. Continue on to Plettenberg Bay, a much-loved seaside town known for its golden beaches, calm lagoons and relaxed coastal charm, with the option to add adventure at nearby Bloukrans Bridge. The route then heads inland to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo, famous for its ostrich farms, the remarkable Cango Caves and striking semi-arid landscapes. From here, follow the scenic Route 62 into the Cape Winelands, arriving in picturesque Franschhoek surrounded by vineyards and mountain views. The journey concludes with a leisurely drive into Cape Town, where rolling wine country gives way to one of the world’s most beautiful coastal cities.
